Duncan, BC: The Vernon Vipers jumped out to a 2–0 lead after one period in Cowichan, but the Capitals rallied to tie things up in the second before pulling away in the third, as the Vipers fell 6–2 on Sunday afternoon to wrap up their longest road swing of the season.
Michael Munroe opened the scoring with his team-leading ninth of the year, while Davids Livsics also found the back of the net.
Maxim Abdullayev made 24 saves on 30 shots in goal. The Vipers went 0 for 1 on the powerplay but were perfect on the penalty kill, finishing 3 for 3.
Six different Capitals hit the scoresheet — Brendyn Van Oene, Gavin Nemis, Slade Firkus, Trace Frieden, Anthony Hall, and Tristan Gravenor — while Jack Hirshorn earned the win with 25 saves on 27 shots.
The Vipers will return home eager to get back in front of their fans for the first time in over a month, Friday, November 7th, when they host the Spruce Grove Saints at Kal Tire Place.
