After the Buzzer – Vipers 6 – Bucks 1

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers checked off a few big boxes Saturday night at Kal Tire Place, powering their way to a 6-1 win over the Cranbrook Bucks. The victory marked their first of the season, highlighted by a strong special teams effort, balanced scoring, and nearly a full 60-minute performance.

The Offense
Sam Charko led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Michael Munroe also scored twice. Seth Tansem factored in on three goals with helpers, and Brendan Russell netted his first BCHL goal before adding an assist. Newcomer Tyler Chiovetti chipped in his first as a Viper, and Edvin Nilsson recorded a pair of assists.

Between the Pipes
Making his first BCHL start, Oliver Kanat looked composed throughout, stopping 26 of 27 shots for the win.

For the Visitors
Grant Denuccio tallied the lone Bucks goal. Goaltender Richard Rafaj was busy all night, facing 42 shots and finishing with 36 saves after a heavy first period workload.

What’s Next
The Vipers wrapped up their four-game homestand with a 1-2-1 record and now hit the road for a matchup against the West Kelowna Warriors on Tuesday night at Royal LePage Place. Puck drop is 7:00 PM, with coverage on 107.5 Beach Radio, Vernon Matters, and FloHockey.
