After the Buzzer – Vipers Blank Spruce Kings

Prince George, BC:  The Vipers powerplay struck twice, their penalty kill was perfect as was Ethan David, turning aside 27 shots for the 3-0 shutout over the Prince George Spruce Kings.

Luke Pakulak got the scoring just 83 seconds into the game on a powerplay as he deflected a Connor Welsh shot through the five-hole.  It was Pakulak’s 7th powerplay goal of the season.

Thomas Tien scored his 6th goal of the season and 3rd in 4 games, all of them coming within a foot of the goal crease.  It was an important goal to give Vernon a 2-goal lead.

Reagan Milburn kept the Viper powerplay perfect as he bolted in on a breakaway for his 15th goal of the season.

Ethan David made 27 saves for his 3rd shutout of the season.  The largest of those came in the first period as he robbed Kilian McGregor-Bennett with the skate blade.

After a tough night for special teams, the Vipers bounced back in a big way with a perfect powerplay of 2 for 2 and a perfect penalty kill going 3 for 3.

Jordan Fairlie made 18 saves on 21 shots and a number of them were high quality.

The Vipers now head home and prepare for a four game homestand starting Friday against Salmon Arm.
