After the Buzzer – Vipers Blanked By Backs

Vernon, BC:  The Vipers put 26 shots towards the Salmon Arm goal crease, but couldn’t solve Owen Say as they fell 3-0 on Saturday night.

Daniel Panetta scored two goals in a second second window, one on a wrap around and one on a rebound.  The Vipers penalty kill gave them some life, but couldn’t find a way to beat Owen Say.  A late powerplay generated some chances, but the period ended 2-0 despite the Vipers outshooting Salmon Arm 10-7.

The Vipers PK was tested again in the second as they had to kill of a 5-minute major.  They were more than up for the challenge as they surrendered just 3 shots in that span.

In the third Daniel Panetta scored his third of the night on a powerplay making it 3-0.  The Vipers had a couple of looks but again Owen Say had an answer making the final 3-0.

The Vipers are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they head to Salmon Arm for a 4pm puck drop.
