After the Buzzer – Vipers Comeback Falls a Goal Short in Loss to Warriors

Vernon, BC:  Luke Pakulak had two more points including a game tying goal early in the third, but it wasn’t enough to get the win as they fell 4-3 to the West Kelowna Warriors.

The Warriors had the only goal in the first period as Alexi Van Houtte-Cachero popped home a rebound at the six minute mark.

Early in the second West K extended their lead as Tyler Cristall converted on a chance.  Nothing seemed to be going the Vipers way until a turnover in the Warriors zone, a Reagan Milburn goal post and the rebound knocked home by Ryan Shostak.  The Vipers had a costly turnover late in the period and John Evans scored to make it 3-1 after 2 periods.

The Vipers looked inspired in the third period as Cam MacDonald converted on a powerplay chance to make it 3-2.  Shortly after a point shot and a rebound evened the game up as Luke Pakulak scored his third of the season.  West K re-took the lead as Marcus Joughin scored on a rebound to make it 4-3.  The Vipers pushed to get the game tied, but couldn’t find the equalizer.

The Vipers will be back in action Friday night when they head to Penticton to take on the Vees.
