West Kelowna, BC: It wasn’t the way the Vipers wanted to end the week as the Vipers dropped a 6-1 game in West Kelowna.
The Vipers had a chance on an early powerplay, but couldn’t convert, only to have West Kelowna strike on their first as Tyler Cristall banked in a centering pass to make it 1-0. The Vipers found their legs later on in the period and their forecheck led to their goal as Luke Lavery knocked down a clearing attempt then hooked in his own rebound from below the red line to make it 1-1 after 1.
The Warriors opened the flood gates in the second with four unanswered goals in a span of 5-minutes. Legault, Joughin, Jugnauth, and Roukounakis scored in that window, one of which on a powerplay to make it 5-1 after 2.
The Vipers had some looks in the third, but Johnny Derrick shut the door to keep the Snakes at bay. Christophe Farmer increased the lead to 6-1 just before the 8-minute mark. That was all the offense in the game with the final being 6-1.
The Vipers will finish off their regular season on Wednesday night when they play host to the Trail Smoke Eaters.
