After the Buzzer – Vipers Earn Point In Nanaimo

Nanaimo, BC:  Lee Parks and Connor Elliott had goals and Roan Clarke made 31 saves as the Vipers fell in overtime to the Nanaimo Clippers.

Parks scored his 3rd goal of the weekend and now has 5 goals in his last 5 games.  His 18th of the season was a big one as it cut the deficit at the time to 2-1.  The Stittsville Ontario product finished the weekend with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Connor Elliott also had a great weekend from a point production standpoint.  He got the game tied with his 3rd of the season on the powerplay early in the 3rd period.  He was also the primary assist on the Parks goal earlier on in the game.

Roan Clarke battled hard in the Viper goal crease against the high flying Clippers.  His best of the nice was a cross ice pass in the second period robbing the forward and keeping the game 2-0.

The Clippers had goals from Kai Daniells, Wyllam Gendron and Ethan Mistry.  Aidan Campbell was spectacular in the first period for Nanaimo turning away all 19 shots the Vipers put his way.  He would finish the game with 30 saves.

The Viper PK killed off 7 of 8 Nanaimo powerplays while the Vipers man advantage went 1 for 5.

The Vipers will return home to play the Trail Smoke Eaters on Family Day at 2pm.
