After the Buzzer – Vipers Lose 4-2 to Silverbacks

Vernon, BC:  Luke Buss and JoJo Tanaka-Campbell each had two points in a 4-2 loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Wednesday night.

Salmon Arm had the only goal in the first, a powerplay marker, off the stick of Brandon Santa Juana.  Assists went to Simon Tassy and Mike Ladyman.  Salmon Arm led in the shot department 10-8.

The Vipers had a carry over powerplay from the first period and Luke Buss sniped his 6th goal of the season from Tanaka-Campbell and Milburn making it 1-1.  Daniel Panetta scored even strength before Simon Tassy added a shorthanded goal making it 3-1.  The Vipers responded a minute later when Liam Cavan scored his first BCHL goal making it 3-2 after 2 periods.

It was a chess match in the third with just 13 combined shots.  The Vipers pulled the goalie and pushed for the equalizer, but it was Daniel Panetta scoring his second of the game with just 2 seconds left sealing the game and the final of 4-2.

The Vipers are off for a week now and will play in Salmon Arm next Wednesday.
