After the Buzzer – Vipers Offense Explodes in 7-1 Victory Over Coquitlam Express

Coquitlam, BC:  The Vernon Vipers’ offense came alive on Wednesday night, propelling them to a dominant 7-1 victory over the Coquitlam Express at Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex

The win marked the Vipers’ second consecutive triumph, improving their record to 8-10-4 on the season and 5-6-1 on the road.

Balanced Attack Leads the Way
Will Schumacher paced the Vipers’ offense with a standout performance, tallying a goal and two assists. Jakub Galnor lit the lamp twice, while Luke Bibby, Erik Pastro, Noah Grolnic, Marko Stojkov, and Keeghan Dunn all contributed with multi-point efforts, showcasing the team’s depth and balanced scoring attack.

Kykkanen Stands Tall
In goal, Jari Kykkanen was a steady presence for the Vipers, turning aside 27 of 28 shots to secure his second win of the season. His solid play between the pipes ensured Coquitlam’s offensive chances were limited to just a lone goal from Thomas Zocco in the third period.

Express Struggle to Find Answers
Coquitlam’s Andrew Ness faced a relentless Vipers attack, making 26 saves on 33 shots. Despite his efforts, the Express were unable to generate sustained pressure, and their offense was stifled throughout the game.

Special Teams Take a Backseat
Special teams didn’t factor heavily into the outcome, with the Vipers going 0-for-1 on the power play and successfully killing off both of Coquitlam’s man-advantage opportunities.

Next Up: Nanaimo
With momentum on their side, the Vipers continue their road trip on Friday night with a matchup against the Nanaimo Clippers. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM, as Vernon looks to extend their winning streak and inch closer to the .500 mark.
