After the Buzzer – Vipers Streak Ended at 7, with Loss to West K

Vernon, BC:  Luke Buss scored the only goal for the Vipers in the 3rd period as the Vipers saw their 7-game win streak snapped in a 4-1 loss to the West Kelowna Warriors.

Luke Buss tallied his second goal of the season set up by Julian Facchinelli and Owen Kim.

Ethan David made 27 saves on 30 shots.

It was a tough night for the Vipers offense, only getting 16 shots on the West K goal.

“We weren’t ready to go tonight,” says Assistant Coach of the Vipers Colton Sparrow.  “It was on everyone, and there weren’t a lot of positives.  The one positive was the turnout from the fans, which we very much appreciate.”

He goes on to say “It’s a tough league and when you don’t work, you don’t get results.  We’ll be better for it on Monday.”

The Viper powerplay went 0 for 2.

“It was definitely not our best game and our group knows what needs to be fixed,” says Assistant Captain of the Vipers Julian Facchinelli.  “We will get back at it tomorrow and be ready for the Showcase next week.”

Felix Caron was the offensive leader for the Warriors with 3 goals.

Rorke Applebee made 15 saves on 16 shots.

The Vipers will embark on a trip to Seattle for the Showcase starting with a Monday night matchup against the Coquitlam Express.
