After the Buzzer – Vipers Surge To 4-1 Win Over Capitals

Vernon, BC:  Walker Erickson had a goal and an assist in his first game with the Vipers and Roan Clarke made 24 saves on 25 shots as the Vipers defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals 4-1.

The Vipers carried the momentum early and often in this game jumping out to an early shot advantage and had it not been for some heroics by McCoy Bidewell, the home side could have had a multi goal lead early.

Max Borovinskiy opened the scoring with his 3rd of the season midway through the first period, much to the delight of the 2510 fans in attendance.

Ayden Third also pitched in with his 3rd goal of the season jumping on a rebound in front of the Capital goal early in the second.

The Vipers PK which remained air tight killed off a 5-minute major powerplay after Luke Pakulak was assessed a Check from Behind.

Special Teams was crucial to the victory as the powerplay increased the lead thanks to a Lee Parks team leading 13th of the season.

Roan Clarke saved some of his biggest saves for the 3rd period including a big one on Luke Eurig.  With the victory, the Dartmouth commit now has 9 wins on the campaign.

William Elias broke the shutout bid in the third period.

Walker Erickson cued up the highlight reel in the last couple of minutes with a beautiful goal to seal the victory.

The Vipers are off Saturday and will travel to Cranbrook to take on the Bucks for a Sunday matinee.
