Hockey’s Back: Vipers Drop the Puck on Preseason Tonight!

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers hit the ice tonight for the first of four preseason games. After a highly competitive training camp, players will continue to battle for spots on the opening night roster.

“As we enter the next phase of our preseason schedule, emotions are running high,” said Assistant Coach Ryan Hollweg. “The opportunity to play against another team and experience live game action is exciting for everyone. From a coaching staff perspective, we’re eager to see how the players elevate their game as we transition into the exhibition portion of camp. The increased pace, skill level, and intensity will challenge them — and we’re looking forward to seeing who rises to the occasion and takes their game to the next level.”

As is typical for an opening preseason matchup, tonight’s roster should feature a blend of veterans and young players getting their first taste of junior hockey.

The Cranbrook Bucks also begin their preseason tonight. Following this matchup, they’ll head to Salmon Arm tomorrow before returning home for games against Trail and Salmon Arm.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. at Kal Tire Place North. Tickets are available at the Vipers box office all day, or at the door starting at 5:00 p.m. Please note: rush seating only — no reserved seats.

The game will also be broadcast on FloHockey starting at 6:50.
