Patriots advance to RBC Cup

The OJHL Champion Toronto Lakeshore Patriots have advanced to the 2014 RBC Cup after winning the 2014 Dudley Hewitt Cup Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the OJHL Host Wellington Dukes

Rory Bell finished with one point to lead Toronto Lakeshore to a 2-1 victory over the Wellington Dukes.

Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Andreas Tsogkas as well. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Jacob Hayhurst, Luke Carter, Nathan Feric, and Michael Prapavessis, who contributed one each.

Wellington could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Dukes average 3.3 goals per game.

Wellington was led by Chad Thibodeau, who scored the team's only goal. Thibodeau scored on the power play 19:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Dukes earned a power play opportunity when Prapavessis was put in the box for tripping. Abbott Girduckis picked up the assist.

Evan Buitenhuis made 21 saves for Toronto Lakeshore on 22 shots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tyson Teichmann rejected 27 shots on goal for Wellington. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wellington ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andrew Coupland was ejected from the game.
