Pre-Game Report: Vernon Vipers vs. Penticton Vees

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are looking to close out their lengthy road trip with back-to-back victories as they face the Penticton Vees tonight at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Riding high from last night’s impressive 4-0 win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, the Vipers (4-7-1-0) aim to keep building momentum and improve their record.

In last night’s game, Will Schumacher led the charge with three assists, while goaltender Colin Reay was a wall in net, stopping all 31 shots he faced for the shutout. The Vipers’ special teams were on point, with the power play going 2-for-6 and the penalty kill a perfect 3-for-3.

The Penticton Vees, tonight’s opponents, come into this matchup having dropped two of their last three games, most recently a 4-1 loss to Trail. Max Heise scored Penticton’s lone goal, and Will Ingemann faced 22 shots, making 18 saves. This will be the second of six meetings between the Vipers and Vees this season. Their previous encounter saw the Vipers nearly rally back but ultimately falling short in a 4-3 loss.

Expect an intense game as both teams look to bounce back and gain ground in the standings. Tune in to catch all the action starting at 5:45 on 107.5 Beach Radio, Vernon Matters, or watch live on FloHockey.
