Vernon, BC: Training camp is just two days old, but already some new BCHL players will get a chance to cut their teeth at the Junior level for the first time when the Vipers host the Trail Smoke Eaters in preseason action.
It’s the first of five preseason games for the Vipers and the only one against Trail.
Vernon will get two weekend home and homes against Salmon Arm and West Kelowna before kicking off the regular season against the Silverbacks on September 22.
There will be lots of new names and faces, some who are signed, some who are trying to earn a spot and some who are here for the Junior experience. Many of the returning veterans will suit up later on in the preseason.
The Smoke Eaters also have a busy Exhibition Schedule. They will square off with Cranbrook twice, Penticton, Powell River and Prince George once for a total of 6 games in anticipation of their season opener against Cranbrook.
On their roster page, the Smokies will return just a handful of players to start the preseason.
