Stavrianeas Commits To Vernon

Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the commitment of 2005 born forward George Stavrianeas from Shawnigan Lake School U18 Prep.

"George was a highly recruited player and we are extremely happy he chose Vernon for his continued development," says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. "George plays a driving style game with his speed and compete level."

Stavrianeas, from Vancouver, finished his first season at Shawnigan with 15 goals and 22 assists in 28 games played. He also tallied 4 goals and 4 assists in just 3 games in the postseason.

"I'm honoured to be joining the Vernon Vipers as I have felt nothing but welcomed by their coaching staff and players upon my initial introduction to the team," says Stavrianeas. "I appreciate all the support I've received thus far towards my long-term goal of playing collegiate hockey and would like to thank the Vipers for this incredible opportunity."

Stavrianeas is 5'10 and 184 pounds and shoots left.

Please join us in welcoming George and his family to the Vipers organization.
