Vernon Kia Game Day! – Vipers End Weekend In Coquitlam

Langley, BC:  The Vernon Vipers conclude 11 straight away from home tonight as they take on the BCHL’s best, Coquitlam Express.

The Vipers (13-9-1-1) are coming in after a 3-2 shootout loss last night in Langley.  Dawson Holt had a shorthanded goal and Reilly Herbst made 30 saves in the SOL.  The Vipers have been pretty consistent lately, getting at least a point in 12 of their last 15 games.  The Vipers PK has been strong in the last two games killing off 9 straight opportunities and has been a key reason for the Vipers success.  Matt Kowalski has goals in back to back games and leads the team in points.

The Express (20-4-0) are the best team in the BCHL sitting with 40 points and have won 8 of their last 9 games.  They are extremely balanced as they have 13 players with double digits in points.  Connor Gregga leads the way offensively with 7 goals and 14 assists.  Clay Stevenson in goal has been a big reason for the teams success as he leads the BCHL in goals against average with 1.41. and is tied for the league lead in shutouts with 3.
