Vernon Kia Game Day – Vipers Finish 3 in 3 in Nanaimo

Nanaimo, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to keep a streak and finish a 3 game in 3 day stretch on a winning note this afternoon as they take on the Nanaimo Clippers at the Frank Crane Arena today at 2pm.

The Vipers (10-6-0) come into the day on a 7 game winning streak following a 4-3 shootout win over Alberni Valley last night.  Cam MacDonald tied the game up in the dying minutes of regulation and then again scored again in the shootout to help get his team the victory.  The Vipers put up 46 shots which is their 2nd highest total of the season.

The Clippers (10-5-1-1) are winless in their last two, but are tied for the Island Division lead with the Cowichan Valley Capitals.  At one point Nanaimo rattled off a 7 game streak earlier on.    19 year old Ethan Scardina leads Nanaimo offensively with 9 goals and 9 assists.  Defensively the Clippers are second in the league defensively with just 35 goals against in 17 games.

Its the first of two regular season meetings, the next one coming in February.
