Vernon Kia Game Day! – Vipers Finish Weekend In Salmon Arm

Vernon, BC:  The Vipers look to build on a lot of positives and back to back 7-3 wins this afternoon as they make the short trip to Salmon Arm to take on the Silverbacks.

The Vipers (22-17-1-1) come into the game on a quick turn around as they downed the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 7-3.  It was the second consecutive victory for the Vipers by that score as they took care of the Wild 7-3 last Sunday.  Matt Kowalski had a 5 point night including a hat trick and a highlight reel goal to cap it off.  Ben Sanderson scored his first of the season and Max Bulawka score his first as a Viper in his first game.  The Viper PK was the story killing 7 of 8 Bulldog chances.  Reilly Herbst was great when called upon making 24 saves.

The Silverbacks (22-17-1-1) were idle last night, but also come in after a win over the Bulldogs, 3-2 in over time.  Akito Hirose scored his 4th overtime winner.  The Silverbacks have been in tough of late going 3-7 in their last 10 games.  The team remains very good at home this season with a 15-8 record.

This is the 5th of 6 meeting between these two teams with the Vipers hold a 3-1 lead in the season series.
