Vernon, BC: The Vipers look to build on a lot of positives and back to back 7-3 wins this afternoon as they make the short trip to Salmon Arm to take on the Silverbacks.
The Vipers (22-17-1-1) come into the game on a quick turn around as they downed the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 7-3. It was the second consecutive victory for the Vipers by that score as they took care of the Wild 7-3 last Sunday. Matt Kowalski had a 5 point night including a hat trick and a highlight reel goal to cap it off. Ben Sanderson scored his first of the season and Max Bulawka score his first as a Viper in his first game. The Viper PK was the story killing 7 of 8 Bulldog chances. Reilly Herbst was great when called upon making 24 saves.
The Silverbacks (22-17-1-1) were idle last night, but also come in after a win over the Bulldogs, 3-2 in over time. Akito Hirose scored his 4th overtime winner. The Silverbacks have been in tough of late going 3-7 in their last 10 games. The team remains very good at home this season with a 15-8 record.
This is the 5th of 6 meeting between these two teams with the Vipers hold a 3-1 lead in the season series.
