Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers look to shake off a rough outing on Saturday night as they head to Merritt to take on the Centennials.
The Vipers (26-21-2-1) come into the game having won 2 of 3 games last week. Crucial wins over Wenatchee and Prince George at home gave way to a lopsided loss in Penticton. Its been a busy stretch for the group as they just finished a 12 game month that saw them play 10 games in 18 days. The Vipers currently sit 1 point behind Salmon Arm for 3rd place in the division and 3 points ahead of Wenatchee for 5th. All 3 teams have played 50 games. Wenatchee is idle.
The Centennials (10-36-1-3) have lost 14 straight games coming into the night. They have a two game week that will also see them travel to Prince George on Friday. Don’t let their record fool you, this is a Merritt team that works extremely hard and has pushed the top teams in the division. Close losses to Trail (6-4 and 4-3), Chilliwack (6-4) and Salmon Arm (5-3) just to name a few.
Its the 5th of 6 regular season meetings. They’ll wrap up the season series on Family Day.
You can catch all the action starting at 6:45 with the pregame show on 107.5 Beach Radio, Vernon Matters and HockeyTV.
