Vernon Kia Game Day – Vipers Tangle With Silverbacks

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers will make their first trip of the season to the Shaw Centre tonight when they take on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the second time in 8 days.

The Vipers (14-12-1-1) come in following a tough loss a night ago to the Surrey Eagles by a 4-3 score.  Matt Kowalski had a pair of goals and Dawson Holt had a marker in the loss.  The Vipers put up 37 shots on goal.  Kowalski remains the most consistent of the Vipers with points in 7 straight hockey games.  In that time, the Vernon product has 6 goals and 2 assists in that stretch and leads the team in offense with 13 goals and 12 assists.

The Silverbacks (19-9-1-1) are winless in their last 4 games and come in off a home loss last night to the Langley Rivermen.  The Backs have the best win loss record on home ice in the Interior Division at 13-4-0-0, they’ve also played the most games on home ice.  Third year Silverback Noah Wakeford his 2nd on the team in offense with 12 goals and 20 assists, right behind Akito Hirose.
