Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the commitment of 2007-born forward Van Martin for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
The Raymond, New Hampshire native joins the Vipers after splitting last season between the Lone Star Brahmas and New Hampshire Mountain Kings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
In 45 combined games, Martin recorded 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward is also committed to St. Lawrence University to continue his hockey career at the NCAA Division I level.
“Van is a high-skill, offensively dynamic forward who processes the game at a very high speed,” said Head Coach and General Manager Matt Cooke. “He protects the puck extremely well and has fantastic playmaking vision. He’s able to create opportunities for himself, but what really stands out is his ability to find his linemates and put them in positions to score. We believe his skill, hockey sense and creativity will add another dangerous element to our forward group.”
Martin is excited to make the move to Vernon and begin the next chapter of his junior hockey career.
“I’m super pumped to sign with Vernon and can’t wait to get started,” said Martin. “I’m excited to meet the fans, my new teammates and the staff and become part of the Vipers organization. I’ve heard great things about Vernon and I’m looking forward to getting into the community, continuing to develop my game and doing whatever I can to help the team win.”
