Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the commitment of 2007-born goaltender Samuel DiBlasi for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
The Saginaw, Michigan native joins the Vipers after an impressive season with the Chatham Maroons of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL). DiBlasi posted a 23-4-1 record last season, along with a .915 save percentage and 2.78 goals-against average in 34 appearances. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 195 pounds, DiBlasi combines size with athleticism and mobility in the crease.
“Sam has an incredibly high motor and his mechanics look effortless, especially for a goaltender of his size,” said Head Coach and General Manager Matt Cooke. “He’s very strong laterally and does a great job of staying composed and controlled in the crease. What also stands out to us is his calm demeanour and the level of preparation and confidence he brings to the position. He’s coming off a very strong season, and we’re excited to work with him and continue his development here in Vernon.”
DiBlasi is looking forward to making the move to Vernon and taking the next step in his junior career.
“I’m very excited to get started with the Vipers,” said DiBlasi. “I’ve heard a lot of great things about the organization and the community, and I’m looking forward to getting to Vernon and meeting my teammates, coaches and the fans.
