Vipers finish regular season in Merritt

Tonight is the seventh and final regular season meeting between the Vipers & Centennials. Merritt leads the season series 3-2-1. The last meeting between these two teams saw a 4-4 end in Merritt on January 25th. The Vernon Vipers make their fourth and final visit of the regular season to the Nicola Valley Arena tonight are coming off a 6-5 loss in Trail Wednesday. Tonight is the second and final game of a two game road trip, where the Vipers are playing their final regular season game of the season. Vernon clinched a playoff spot for the first time in three years last weekend will finish in 3rd place will travel to either West Kelowna or Penticton Tuesday for Game 1 of the BCHL playoffs depending who will finish in 2nd place. The Smoke Eaters snapped Vernon's five game winning streak this week where the Vipers have gone 7-2-0-1 in their last ten games. The Vipers have won three of their last five road games tied the Centennials 4-4 the last time they visited Merrit in late January. Vernon has just two wins in their last ten games in Merritt.

The Merritt Centennials clinched the Interior Divisions fourth and final playoff spot eliminating the Salmon Arm Silverbacks from this year's BCHL playoffs after a 5-1 victory Wednesday. Tonight is the Centennials final game of the regular season will travel either to Penticton or West Kelowna for the first round of the playoffs depending who finishes 1st and 2nd in the Division. Merritt has won back to back games have won three of their last five games and are 6-4-0-0 in their last ten games. The Cents have won three of their last five home games have played six of their last ten games away from home.

Scott Paterson (25-26-51) leads the Centennials in goals with twenty five while Diego Cuglietta (18-36-54) leads the Centennials in points with fifty four.
