Vipers Game Day – Vipers Aim To Finish Road Trip With a Win in SA

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers accomplished a goal last night, to win the first of the weekend.  They look to keep that momentum going into one of the toughest places to get points, the Shaw Centre when they battle the Silverbacks for the second time in 7 days.

Record:  13-5-0-0

Goals For:  81

Goals Against: 49

Power Play:  18 for 65 – 27.7%

Penalty Kill:  48 of 59 – 81.3%

Leading Scorer:  Owen Kim (6G, 20A)

Last Game:  It was a pretty gutsy road effort in Merritt as an undermanned Viper squad rolled into a tough place to play and rolled out with a 4-2 win to improve their record to 4-0 against the Cents.  Owen Kim led the way with three assists, Erik Pastro pitched in with a goal and an assist.  Connor Elliott and Linden Burrett also had goals, the latter with his first in the BCHL.  Ethan David has 19 saves on 21 shots.

Last Game:  The Silverbacks won their fifth straight game last night when they took down the Victoria Grizzlies.  JJ Monteiro, Casy Laylin, Reid Varkonyi and Nathan Mackie had the goals.  Eli Pulver had 21 saves on 24 shots.  Their PK continues to lead the way in the BCHL and was 2 of 2 in the win over Victoria.
