Last Game: The Vipers are coming in off as close to a 60-minute performance a team could have downing Langley 4-0 last Saturday.  The Vipers had goals from Thomas Tien, Connor Elliott, Reagan Milburn and Lee Parks.  Roan Clarke made 18 saves for his first shutout of the season.  The Vipers won the special teams battle going 1 for 4 on the powerplay and killing off all 3 Langley powerplays.

Today’s Game: The Vipers look for their first win against their Interior Conference rivals.  If the first two games are an indicator, this game will be entertaining.  The Vipers have yet to register a win, but narrowly missed forcing overtime in game 1 and falling in a shootout in game 2, both by 4-3 scores.  The Vipers rallied from 3 one goal deficits in the first game.  Most of game 2 was tied, Jaiden Moriello scored, before Hank Cleaves tied it late to force overtime.  The Vipers powerplay has converted 3 times on 7 chances in the first two games, while the powerplay is a 11 of 11 against a lethal West K powerplay.

West Kelowna Warriors

GM & Head Coach: Simon Ferguson

2022-23: GP 21 – 13-6-2-0, 2nd Interior Conference

Home: 7-3-0-0

Away: 6-3-2-0

Goals For: 82

Goals Against: 72

Powerplay: 23 for 95 – 24.2% (4th in BCHL)

Penalty Kill: 64 of 86 – 74.4% (15th in BCHL)

Last Game: The Warriors are coming in off a weekend split in Prince George.  They fell 2-1 on Friday before downing the Spruce Kings 4-3 on Saturday.  The win ended a 4-game winless streak.  West K spread the scoring around with 4 different goal scorers pitching in.  Justin Katz made 27 saves for the win.  Their powerplay went 1 for 6, while their PK killed off 4 of 6.

Today’s Game: It’s Teddy Bear Toss night at RLP tonight.  The Warriors have leaned on their goaltending in the first two games of the season series.  Justin Katz has been stellar stopping 60 of 66 shots, many of them great opportunities.  Ben MacDonald and Dylan Brooks each have two goals.
