Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Finish Mini Road Trip in West Kelowna

Prince George, BC:  The Vernon Vipers will finish a long yet short road trip tonight as they travel from Prince George to West Kelowna for a date with the Warriors.

The Vipers (4-4-3-2) come in following a tough 3-2 shootout loss to the Prince George Spruce Kings last night.  Logan Lorenz and Luke Buss had goals and Roan Clarke was solid turning aside 23 of 25 PG shots.  The true bright spot of the game last night was the efforts of the penalty kill.  It killed 3 PG powerplays and didn’t surrender a shot on goal.  One of those kills came in overtime while down 4 on 3.  The Vipers continue to rack up points as they have points in 9 of their last 11.  It’s been a battle on the road, with just one win thus far away from the friendly confines, but they’re tied for league lead in road games played and have points in 5 of 8.

The Warriors (10-2-0-0) come in as hot as they come in the BCHL winning 6 straight games.  They recently took both games in Wenatchee with a win in overtime, then a clean 4-3 win last night.  This weekend is no walk in the park for West K either as they travelled home overnight and finish up a 3 game in 3 night stretch.  The Warriors have had offense spread up and down the lineup with Felix Trudeau and Elan Bar-lev-wise leading the charge with 17 and 16 points respectively.  Johnny Derrick has carried the load for West K in goal, suiting up for 9 of the 12 games this season with 8 wins in those games.
