Vipers Game Day – Vipers Finish Weekend Set in Salmon Arm

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers will look for a little bit of weekend redemption as they head to Salmon Arm to take on the Silverbacks.

The Vipers (7-13-3-3) come in following a 3-0 loss at home against the Backs on New Year’s Day.  Some bright spots featured a penalty kill that killed off 5 of 6 including a 5-minute major in the second period, another strong showing in the goal crease from Ethan David and an uptick in physical play to match the physical Silverbacks.  The Vipers put 26 shots the way of the Salmon Arm goal, but couldn’t break through the levy.

The Backs (21-4-1) received a hat trick from their captain yesterday as Daniel Panetta scored all 3 of the Silverback goals.  The Colgate commit has 4 goals against the Vipers this season.  Owen Say was strong in goal stopping all 26 shots he faced for his second shut out of the season.  The Silverbacks remain unbeaten in regulation on the road.

This is the 7th of 8 regular season meetings.

You can catch all the action starting at 3:45 with the pregame show on BCHL.TV and 107.5 Beach Radio.
