Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Head to Penticton, Face Red Hot Vees

Vernon, BC:  It’s early in the season, but the Vipers have shown an ability to bounce back after a loss.  They’ll look to do that again while facing the Vees for the first time at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Record:  8-3-0-0

Goals For:  48

Goals Against:  33

Power Play:  12 for 39 – 30.8%

Penalty Kill:  28 of 34 – 82.4%

Leading Scorer:  Hank Cleaves (4G, 9A), Anthony Cliche (3G, 10A)

Last Game:  The Vipers sputtered in their last outing through 40 minutes.  Despite a late surge they would ultimately fall by a 7-3 score against the Surrey Eagles on Tuesday night.  Adam Csabi, Owen Kim and Erik Pastro scored goals for the the Vipers.

Power Play:  10 for 37 – 27.0%

Penalty Kill:  24 of 36 – 66.7%

Leading Scorer:  Connor MacPherson (6G, 11A)

Last Game:  The Vees were victorious in their second game at the Showcase in Seattle on Tuesday, 4-2 over Powell River.  Francesco Dell’Elce and Connor MacPherson had a pair of assists, while Penticton got goals from four different sources.  Their powerplay was 0 for 2, and their PK killed off just 1 of 3 chances.  Will Ingemann made 22 saves on 24 shots for the win.

It’s the first of five head to head meetings this season.
