Vipers Game Day – Vipers Host Bucks in Sunday Matinee

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers will look climb a bit closer in the standings as they host the Cranbrook Bucks on Sunday afternoon.

The Vipers (23-19-4-3) come in having loss two in a row and a tough one on Friday night in Prince George.  They were even with the Spruce Kings after 40 minutes, but special teams was their undoing surrendering 4 third period goals in the loss.  Ryan Shostak had the lone Viper goal.  It’s been a tough week for Vernon as they’ve been outscored 10-3.  The Vipers remain 6-4 in their last 10 games.

The Bucks (27-19-2-2) have won two straight and are playing some good hockey of late.  They recently took down the Merritt Centennials in back to back games by 6-1 and 6-3 scores.  They’re 7-3 in their last 10 games and have really sued home ice to their advantage witha  14-7-1-2 record.  The road however, has been a little more difficult as they have a 13-12-1 record away from Western Financial Place.  Tyson Dyck continues to lead the way offensively for Cranbrook with 33 goals and 34 assists for 67 points.

This is the sixth and final head to head meeting of the season between these two teams.  The Vipers are 3-2 in those games.
