Vipers Game Day – Vipers Host Spruce Kings For Family Day Matinee

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers return home after a fairly successful week to celebrate Family Day against the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The Vipers (19-16-4-3) come in following a 5-1 loss in Wenatchee on Friday night.  Copeland Fricker scored his first BCHL goal shorthanded.  With the loss the Vipers fell to 8-8-3-3 on the road.  It’s the Vipers first regulation loss on the road since January 2.  The Vipers PK was locked in last week killing off 12 of 13.  The one surrendered was on a 5 on 3.  The Vipers record over the last 10 is 7-2-1.  Home ice has been a safe space for the Vipers with an 11-8-1 record.

The Spruce Kings (25-9-3-6) might just be the most consistent team in the BCHL over the last 2 months.  They are unbeaten in regulation in 20 games.  The last time the Spruce Kings lost in regulation was December 18 at Kal Tire Place, a 2-1 Vernon win.  PG is at the end of 3 games in 4 days that has seen them rack up a 3-1 win over Salmon Arm and a 3-2 win over Penticton.  The Spruce Kings are 6-0-1-3 in their last 10 games.

This is the 7th of 9 head to head meetings with the Spruce Kings.  The Vipers are 4-1-0-1 so far.
