Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Host Vees

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers will look to finish the round robin portion of the Okanagan Cup strong as they host the Penticton Vees for the first of a home and home set.

The Vipers (3-4-1-2) have registered at least a point in each of their last 6 games.  They took 3 out of 4 points against Salmon Arm last weekend with the team dropping a shootout decision.  Nick Kent has a great weekend racking up 3 assists.  Josh Prokop and Tyler Carpendale suited up for their first games and immediately made an impact with Prokop having 3 points and Carpendale getting 2.  Roan Clarke and Koen MacInnes split the duties and both look extremly sharp.

Defensively the Vipers continue to keep shots against to a minimum allowing just 18 shots on Saturday.  The Vipers have surrendered at least 35 shots against just one time.

The Vees (9-1-0-0) are coming off a bye week where they split a home and home set with the Silverbacks.  The lone loss coming in a 4-2 decision.

Penticton is still getting the offensive output from Matteo Constantini and Liam Malmquist atop the scoring chart.

The Vees powerplay has been a big reason for their success operating a shade under 30%.

You can catch all the action starting at 5:45 on HockeyTV, Beach Radio and Vernon Matters.
