Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers responded nicely last night following a midweek loss to Salmon Arm with a 3-2 come from behind win over West Kelowna last night.
The Vipers (10-4-1-1) erased a two goal deficit last night to take down West Kelowna by a 3-2 score. Desmond Johnson scored his first BCHL goal 15 seconds before Nick Kent tied it with a slap shot. Cam MacDonald scored 7 minutes into the third and the Vipers were able to hold onto that lead. Roan Clark stopped 15 of 17 for his 4th win. None bigger than a save with just 10 seconds left to preserve the tie.
The Silverbacks (7-5-2-1) come into the game following a big 3-1 win over the Vernon Vipers. Owen Say was magnificent in goal. Cameron Recchi had a powerplay goal, Simon Tassy scored even strength and Drew Bennett sealed it into an empty net.
The Vipers sit atop the Vernon Pod with 22 points, 5 points clear of Salmon Arm and 8 points clear of West Kelowna. Both Salmon Arm and West K have a game in hand on Vernon.
