Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Look To Bump Slump

Vernon, BC:  There were some positives on Wednesday night, but the Vipers fell short of their ultimate goal of victory.  They look to put it all together tonight when they take on the Penticton Vees for the back half of a home and home set.

The Vipers (0-3) are coming off a 4-0 loss in Penticton on Wednesday night.  There were spurts in the hockey game where it looked like the offensive flood gates would open, but a missed opportunity, a big save or a goal post kept the Vipers off the scoreboard.

“Scoring goals is the most difficult thing to do in hockey,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.  “If everyone could do it, there’d be a lot of rich players.  This group needs to up the intensity level and bear down on their chances.”

A little luck couldn’t hurt the group either who have seen the hockey gods go against them so far in this Okanagan Cup Tournament.

The task doesn’t get any easier as they play a Penticton Vees team that is 5-0.  Their top line was instrumental in their success on Wednesday.  Their powerplay also executed going 2 for 4.
