Vipers Game Day – Vipers Look To Even Up Weekend Set

Prince George, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look for their first win of the season and a little redemption tonight as they finish up a weekend set against the Spruce Kings.

The Vipers (0-3-0-0) fell by a 4-2 score last night.  Luke Pakulak and Isaac Tremblay had goals and Dylan Compton pitched in with a pair of assists in the defeat.  It was a penalty filled affair that saw the Vipers shorthanded 10 times.  They killed off 7 of 10, but the three goals against proved to be the difference as every time they had some momentum, it was taken away by a penalty.  The Viper powerplay was sharp last night scoring two, both off the rush.  The Vipers 5 on 5 game, even though not allowed much time, was sharp as well.

The Spruce Kings (3-0-0-0) scored two powerplay goals in the first five minutes to pace themselves to a 2-goal lead that they wouldn’t relinquish.  The trio of John Herrington, Ben LeFranc and Ty Gagno each had three points while Jake Schneider pitched in with pair of points.  Jordan Fairlie not tested often made a couple of key saves to keep the Vipers behind.
