Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Look to Finish Weekend Strong

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to put a bow on a good weekend when they welcome the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the second half of a home and home set at Kal Tire Place.

The Vipers (3-4-1-1) come in after a very consistent 4-1 win over the Backs.  Nick Kent had 3 assists to pace the group, while they received offense from 4 different goal scorers including Josh Prokop and Tyler Carpendale getting their first goals in their first games, Zack Tonelli getting his first in a Viper uniform and Ethan Mercer continuing his strong preseason campaign.  Roan Clarke made 21 saves for his 2nd win.

The Vipers were extremely disciplined taking just one minor penalty that resulted in a powerplay against.

The Silverbacks (2-6-1) will look back to the weekend that was to find a consistent effort.  Simon Tassy had the lone goal and the Backs failed to generate more than 25 shots for the 3rd straight meeting against Vernon.  No question the offense can be there as Drew Bennett and Carter Loney help drive the group.  Riley Kohonick made 30 saves in the loss.

You can catch all the action starting at 5:45 with the pregame show with the play by play starting at 6pm on HockeyTV, 107.5 Beach Radio and Vernon Matters.
