Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers played a solid 28 minutes last night, but a very inconsistent last 32 in a 4-0 loss to Penticton. They’ll look to recapture what worked early in the hockey game and use it for a full 60 as they travel to the SOEC to take on the Vees.
The Vipers (3-5-1-2) suffered their first loss in regulation in the last 6 games last night. The Vipers powerplay went 0 for 7 and they struggled to convert on their second and third opportunities. The penalty kill was a bright spot last night killing off all 4 Penticton powerplays and not really allowing many opportunities.
The Vees (10-1-0) took advantage of the opportunities presented and their penalty kill was perfect. They’ve surrendered just 4 powerplay goals against in these 11 round robin games. Tyler Ho had a pair of goals including a shorthanded dagger in the third period. Kaedan Lane was strong in goal stopping 25 saves for the shutout.
You can catch all the action tonight at 5:45 with the pregame show and the play by play at 6 on HockeyTV, 107.5 Beach Radio and Vernon Matters.
