Vipers Game Day – Vipers Look To Run Streak To 8, Host Warriors

Vernon, BC:  Even when the Vipers haven’t been at their best, they’ve done just enough to win hockey games.  That was evident Wednesday night in West Kelowna.  Vernon puts an eight game win streak on the line tonight, knowing they’ll have to be more consistent in the rematch tonight.

Last Game:  The Vipers hung around for most of the game against West Kelowna on Wednesday night.  Despite trailing by a pair of goals on two different occasions, the Vipers tied the game late on a George Stavrianeas goal, before getting the game winner a minute into overtime from Connor Elliott.  The Vipers had a whopping 7 powerplays scoring on 1.  Ethan David made 21 saves on 24 shots for his 5th win of the season.  Hank Cleaves kept his point streak alive, now at 7 games.

Leading Scorer:  Michael Salandra (5G, 6A)

Last Game:  The Warriors led for the majority of the game, but ultimately couldn’t pull away from the Vipers on Wednesday.  Their penalty kill, which had to work 7 times, killed 6 of 7.  Isaiah Norlin, Johannes Lokkeberg and Frederic Deschenes had goals.  Rorke Applebee had 34 saves on 38 shots.

This is the second game of back to back this week between these two teams.
