Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers look to secure the top spot in the Vernon pod tonight as they play host to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
The Vipers (11-5-1-1) come in following a crucial 2-1 win over West Kelowna on Monday night. The Vipers had goals from Logan Lorenz and Trey Taylor in the 2nd period and allowed just 2 shots in the 3rd period to secure the victory. For the third time in the pod the Vipers allowed under 25 shots. James Porter Jr. stopped 21 of 22 for the win.
The Silverbacks (9-6-2-1) come in following a tough 5-4 loss to West Kelowna on Wednesday. The Silverbacks climbed back from a 5-2 deficit to keep it close, but couldn’t solve Johnny Derrick for the equalizing game.
The Vipers currently sit 3 points ahead of Salmon Arm for top spot in the pod with 2 games remaining.
