Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Re-Engage With Backs

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to keep their point streak live tonight when they travel to Salmon Arm to take on the Silverbacks.

The Vipers (2-4-1-1) are coming off a shootout loss and a overtime loss to West Kelowna last weekend.  In each of the games the Vipers first periods were spectacular, jumping out to early 3-1 leads before seeing the lead dwindle away.

“These were great examples to our players of how locked in you have to be at all times.  There are no shifts off and mistakes can quickly turn into opportunities against.” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.

The Silverbacks (2-5-1) are coming off their best performance of the Okanagan Cup as they downed the Penticton Vees by a 4-2 score on Saturday.  The Backs were and are led by Drew Bennett offensively.  The 20 year old forward from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland has 5 goals and 1 assist.

The Vipers made a number of roster moves this week signing, Josh Prokop, Tyler Carpendale and Koen MacInnes.  They also dealt Max Bulawka to Cowichan Valley in exchange for future considerations.

You can catch all the action tonight starting at 6:15 with the pregame show with the play by play starting at 6:30
