Vipers Game Day – Vipers Visit Vees

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to end a three game winless streak tonight as they head to the SOEC to battle the Penticton Vees.

The Vipers (6-11-3-3) come in following a pair of tough one goal losses last weekend, a 3-2 shootout loss in Trail, then a 4-3 loss against West Kelowna.  The Vipers are 2-7-0-1 in their last 10 games.  The games have been tight and down to the wire for the majority of the season.  Of the 23 games played so far, 10 of them have been 1 goal games.  In that time they’re 2-2-3-3.  Ryan Shostak leads the way offensively against the Vees this season with 2 goals and 1 assist in 2 games.  Luke Pakulak has been a consistent contributor in the last 6 games.  He’s got points in 5 of those 6, with 2 goals and 6 assists in that window.

The Vees (19-2-0-1) come win on a heater having won 11 of their last 12 and haven’t lost in regulation since November 6 when they lost in Cowichan Valley.  Luc Wilson, Josh Nadeau and Fin Williams lead the way offensively with over 30 points each.  Kaeden Lane has carried the load in goal this season with a goals against average a smidge over 2 and a .910 save percentage.

The Vipers have yet to win against the Vees this season, but both games were tightly contested hockey games.
