Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers kick off 2022 as they host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks this afternoon at Kal Tire Place.
The Vipers (7-12-3-3) come in following a 2-1 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings two weeks ago. Max Borovinskiy and Ryan Shostak had goals in the victory. The Vipers are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games. The PK was superb in their last outing killing all 6 PG powerplays.
The Silverbacks (20-4-1) come in with the second best record in the BCHL. They took care of the Merritt Centennials a few nights ago by a 4-2 score. The Backs are 9-1 in their last 10 games. Simon Tassy is the BCHL’s leading scorer with 44 points. Salmon Arm has yet to lose in regulation away from the Shaw Centre.
This is the 6th of 8 regular season meetings between these teams with the Vipers holding a 1-3-1 record.
