Vipers Game Day – Vipers Welcome Smoke Eaters

Vernon, BC:  The Vipers look to build off one of their best efforts of the season tonight as they play host to the Trail Smoke Eaters for the first time this season.

The Vipers (5-9-3-2) come in following a strong showing against the West Kelowna Warriors on Wednesday night.  They had five different goal scorers.  Roan Clarke was sensational in goal stopping 31 of 32.  Luke Buss had his 6th multi point game of the season with a goal and an assist.  He also extended his point streak to 5 straight games.  Matt Culling has points in 4 straight, while Ryan Shostak has points in 3 consecutive.

The Smoke Eaters (10-6-1-0) come in after a 7-4 win in Cranbrook on Wednesday night.  Zach Michaelis leads the Smokies in offense with 13 goals and 6 assists.  Evan Fradette has been the busiest netminder in the BCHL with 874 minutes played and he’s faced the most rubber with 496 saves on the season.  52 more than Cooper Black of Nanaimo.

It’s the first of five head to head meetings, with these two teams meeting again a week from tonight at the Cominco Arena.

You can catch all the action starting at 6:45 with the pregame show on BCHL.TV and 107.5 Beach Radio.
