Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Wrap Up Homestand Against Backs

Vernon, BC:  The Vipers look to wrap up a successful homestand tonight as they take on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the eighth time this season.

The Vipers (9-14-3-3) come in following a thrilling 2-1 shootout win over the Trail Smoke Eaters on Wednesday night.  Luke Buss had a powerplay goal and Roan Clarke made 35 saves to earn the victory.  Zack Tonelli and Cam MacDonald had goals in the shootout.  It was the first shootout win of the season.  The Vipers PK was very good in both opportunities including a 4 on 3 in overtime.  The PK is operating at 86% at home, well above their average.

The Silverbacks (23-4-1-0) have been off since January 12th when they defeated the Penticton Vees at the SOEC by a 5-2 score.  The Backs have a near perfect record on the road.  The only blemish came back on opening weekend when they fell in OT to the Vipers.  The Backs are the top team in the BCHL, are 9-1 in their last 10 and have won 7 straight.
