Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Dylan Compton (05) from Shawnigan Lake School.
"Dylan is a player that has been highly recruited by various leagues and programs over the last couple of seasons," says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. "We are extremely excited that Dylan and his family have picked Vernon to continue his development as a player and person as he prepares himself for college hockey. As a player, Dylan has the ability to impact the game in a lot of different ways with his skating, puck moving and decision making."
The Victoria, BC product has spent the last three seasons with Shawnigan Lake School. Last season Compton tallied 7 goals and 39 assists in 36 games played. He was MVP and Defenceman of the Year in the CSSHL. Compton played two games with the Vipers on their island road trip last season.
"I can't wait to join the team this upcoming season," says Compton. "I'm extremely excited to continue my development with the Vipers."
Compton is also committed to Northeastern University.
