Vipers Sign Veteran 2005-Born Goaltender Colton Jugnauth

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the signing of 2005-born goaltender Colton Jugnauth.

“We’ve been looking to add a veteran presence in goal — someone whose experience can support Ollie (Oliver Kanat) as a teammate and challenge him to continue developing,” says GM and Head Coach Matt Cooke. “Colton has proven himself at the BCHL level and we believe he brings the ideal combination of mindset, work ethic and commitment to form an excellent tandem for us between the pipes.”

The Kelowna product joins the Vipers after spending the last two seasons with the Surrey Eagles, where he appeared in 13 games and posted a 6-3 record. He was part of the 2023–24 Fred Page Cup championship team. Prior to his BCHL tenure, Jugnauth backstopped the Okanagan Rockets U18AAA to a BCEHL U18 Championship in the 2022–23 season.

If the name Jugnauth is familiar, Colton is the younger brother of Tyson Jugnauth, who spent multiple seasons with the West Kelowna Warriors, and a cousin of Damon Jugnauth, who played in both West Kelowna and Merritt.

The Vipers welcome Colton and his family to the organization.

Additionally, the Vipers have released goaltender Maxim Abdullayev and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
