Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are proud to announce the signing of Deagan McMillan, a Vernon-born forward, for the upcoming season.
“When we heard Deagan wasn’t going to be staying with Wenatchee this season, he was a player we knew we wanted the opportunity to discuss Vernon as an option for him to play,” says Vipers Head Coach and GM Matt Cooke. “After attending PG’s camp, he came out and watched camp with the coaches and was intrigued enough to decide to join our group. His experience in the WHL, his proven ability to score, and his commitment to take on a leadership role with our group is very exciting. He will bring a calmness and confidence to our group and help drive our team.”
McMillan, a product of Vernon, brings with him significant experience from the Western Hockey League. Over his career, he suited up in 226 regular season and playoff games with Tri-City, Victoria, and Wenatchee, nearly hitting the 20-goal mark in two separate seasons.
“I’m extremely excited to be playing for the Vernon Vipers, in front of my hometown fans,” says McMillan. “It was an easy choice for me and my family. I really wanted to come back, be with my family, and play for a great organization and coaching staff.”
The Vipers are thrilled to welcome Deagan and his family to the organization.
The Vernon Vipers’ preseason continues Tuesday night at 7:00 pm when they host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at Kal Tire Place North. Tickets are available at the Vipers Office, at the ticket booth at KTP on game day, or at the door beginning two hours prior to puck drop.
Regular season single game tickets are on sale now at the Vipers Office.
