Vipers Will Have New Captain

Vernon, B.C. | August 24, 2016 — A different Vernon Viper will be wearing the ‘C’ once the 2016-17 season begins. Head Coach Mark Ferner announced last year’s captain Colton McCarthy would not be returning for his final year in a Vipers uniform. The hard nosed forward who was able to rack up 33 points including 21 goals last season has opted to go the Canadian university route. McCarthy played two seasons with the Vipers after leaving the Western Hockey League where he played three seasons with Moose Jaw and Prince Albert.

Watch Mark’s interview below about Colton’s decision and when the team will decide a new captain for the coming season.
