Vipers Win 4-1 Over Langley

The Vernon Vipers wrapped up their three game road trip in winning fashion as they scored three third period goals to pace them to a 4-1 victory in Langley.
Following an uneventful first period, the Vipers scored two goals in the first eighty seconds of the second period from Cameron Trott and Cooper Watson. Both were the first as Vipers and nearly mirror images of each other.

The goals were shots from the right point with many bodies in front of the Langley goaltender. The Viper PK was then pushed to the forefront as the Rivermen had 5 PP opportunities with an extended 5 on 3. Darion Hanson made a handful of big saves and thanks to some timely blocked shots were able to kill off all five. The Vipers tacked onto their lead as Steven Jandric finished off a nice pass from Jimmy Lambert to make it 3-0 after two periods.

In the third the Vipers kept the pressure on and slowed up the Langley offense. A late powerplay was what the doctor ordered for Langley as Ryan Barrow deflected home a pass to break the shut out bid of Hanson to make it 3-1. Steven Jandric would add an empty netter for his second of the night to complete the scoring giving the Vipers a 4-1 win.

The Viper penalty was close to perfect killing off nine of ten and was instrumental in the Vipers coming away with two points.

The Vipers head home to welcome the West Kelowna Warriors Friday night for Teddy Bear Toss Night at Kal Tire Place. Check out vipers.bc.ca for ticket info.
