Vipers Win Home Opener

A different route, but a similar result for the Vernon Vipers as they came back from a 2 goal deficit to defeat the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 5-3. The Vipers led 4 times Friday night, but only once on Saturday, but when it mattered most thanks to 4 unanswered goals in the final period.

Riley Brandt scored his teams second shorthanded goal of the season to kick off the scoring, before the Silverbacks potted two in succession by Carter Cochrane and Grayson Constable to give the visitors a 2-1 lead after 1.

Carson Bolduc tacked on a powerplay goal midway through the period to increase the Viper deficit to 2 after 2 periods of play.

The Vipers took advantage of a carry over powerplay from the second period as Niko Karamanis would score 32 seconds into the period. That really sparked the club as Jagger Williamson chimed in after a phenomenal individual rush to tie the game at 3. Riley Brandt would score his second of the night to give his team their first lead, before Niko Karamanis sealed the game into an empty net making the final 5-3.
